I had my first visit to this office about a year ago, during my initial exam and cleaning they recommended I have 4 crowns. I wasn't experiencing any issues with any of my teeth, however these 4 teeth had multiple fillings already and my previous dentist told me they would eventually need crowns, so I thought why not get them done before I start having issues. After the crowns were completed, I began having temperature sensitivity on one of the teeth. I waited a couple of months until my next cleaning and asked them about it, the doctor thought it might be because the crown on the tooth was a little high and ground the crown down a little bit to make a better bite and said it should be better in a week or two. I waited a couple weeks and still had the sensitivity, so I went back in and they did some more testing to try to determine what was causing it. Still unable to find a cause they said it may take a few more weeks for it to go away. I was certainly frustrated, but accepted it may take some time to heal after the previous adjustment (several months later now, the sensitivity remains and I'll be looking for a new dentist to resolve it).
My wife had dental implants done by a different dentist, it was a nightmare and the work was not done properly. We came in here a few months ago to get a second opinion and see if they could do something to help or advise us what our next steps should be. We met with Dr. Petrone and the office manager who said they don't normally work with the brand of implants she had, but they thought they could help and needed a little time to figure out what tools and other equipment they would need to order to do the work. We left the appt. thinking it would be a few weeks and we would come back to review their treatment plan. A couple of weeks later we hadn't received any communication, I called in and they said they were still working on it and to give them another week or two. This back and forth went on for over a month of me having to call in for updates, then a couple weeks after the last time I called, I finally received a call back and they said that due to the complex nature of the case, they weren't willing to do the work. So, after being drug along for 2 months thinking they were working to find a solution to get my wife taken care of, they just left us hanging without ever presenting an estimate of what the treatment would cost. I don't believe they ever intended to help us out, even though they felt bad for the situation we were in, giving us false hope has only delayed getting the situation resolved. If you aren't willing to take on the challenge, then just say so up front. Looking back at the entire experience with this office, I don't believe it was in my best interest to have 4 crowns done. Throughout visits the staff all seemed friendly and helpful, but it's the same scam as almost all medical places anymore, it's about the money and not the patient. Don't let the kindness distract you from what is really going on here.
